Smithley Attempts to Defend Crown at Shriner's Bowl

Brasleton, GA -- Today marks the one year anniversary of Garrett Smithley's victory at the Ice Cold Shriner's Bowl at Lanier National Speedway. The only things that are different this time around are the weather (It's projected to be about 40 degrees warmer then last year...) and Garrett is with a new team.

Garrett dominated the (Semi Pro) division last year, winning overall on Saturday and finishing second overall on Sunday to (YL) driver, Brady Boswell. This year should be much of the same as Garrett returns home to his favorite track, Lanier National Speedway. Garrett will be in the MR. E Performance (James Edwards) house car after being involved in a wreck at Orange County Speedway earlier this year. Many hours have gone into making this a success for Garrett's return home.

You can follow updates throughout the day on Garrett's Facebook page and Lanier's website: www.lanierspeedway.com
